Not pouring your own shads but using those you buy, I did melt and pour my own but the fumes are terrible and toxic so, buy them.

Here I describe the way how to rig a jig head with a shad on a good way. It’s very important you slide the shad nice and straight on the hook and before you slide it over the lead, put a drop seconds glue on. Then press the shad firmly on the jig head. See the pictures for installing the tail hook and put glue on those places marked with an arrow.

Attaching your 10 pounds tail- hook-line in the bend of the jig hook has the advantage off less tearing the shad apart after hooking up a fish, they last longer. Make the shads at home in a nice comfortable warm place like the kitchen table and make from every color 4 shads in 2 different weights. If you use just one or two different shads you can make more but it's not smart to stick to only two kinds of shads. You need at least 4 actions like very soft ( lots of movement ) soft, hard and very hard with no action at all.
