This is a page I am describing what I did for maintenance on my boat after using it about every week for about 5 years and not only on lakes but also at sea. Aluminum is salt water proof if rinsed after each use. I wash my boat down with soap en give it a wax finish after fishing on salt water but still it was not enough. Corrosion occurred on some places around the nails and were the carpet touches the aluminum. Blisters in the paint made me to take the floor out and sand, primer and spray paint the boat on the inside. On this page I describe the way I did this and how I did get the color codes I needed.
I did do a stupid thing by using silicon spray on the paint to protect it from the weather but after sanding, degreasing and re-spray, craters occurred in the paint. Whatever I tried, nothing worked until a employee give me a small bottle liquid to drop 3 drops into every 100 ml paint. It worked perfectly.
If you have your floor panels removed, vacuum the inside very well and spray wax on. Do the same with the electric connections, spray them with wax or put a tick layer of Vaseline on them. It will prevent corrosion.
You can see the improvement on the pictures.
Best regards
